From hiker to mountaineer and rock climber. This program takes participants from marked hiking trails to unmarked rocky terrain and up to the first rock walls.
Participants practise:
- Walking in unmarked & difficult terrain
- Scrambling
- Basic rock climbing techniques
- Basic knots and rope techniques
- Via ferrata
Via ferrate is Italian for "iron road" and in German is known as a klettersteig. It is a mountain route where fixed cables, foot holds and ladders attached to the rock and used to ascend and descend.
Practical experience will be gained on tours planned by both the Mountain Guide and participants together.
The area around the Karlsbader Hut in the Leinzer Dolomites, East Tirol is a perfect location for this program. The three day course will take place in the Kitzbüheler Alps.
This area is also fantastic for challenging walking and hiking. If there are people or children in your group who do not necessarily want to climb we can organise guided day hikes. Please contact us for more information.
Highlights: Scrambling, via ferrata & first rock climbing experience
Fitness: Able to walk for 4 - 6 hours per day and be comfortable with heights
Group: Maximum of 5 participants per Mountain Guide
Price: All prices include guiding and half board accommodation
