Ötztal Walking with Glacier |
|||||||||||||
The family friendly Ötztal Tour starts in the traditional farming village of Vent, aiming firstly for the Martin Busch Hut. From here we continue to the Similaun Hut and to the location where Ötzi, the Ice Age Man was found. The following morning we walk back along the Nieder Valley to the Martin Busch Hut. From this hut we traverse the Seikogl peak and sleep at the very hospitable Hoch Joch Hospiz Hut. On the 5 day trek we walk across a spectacular glacier to one of the best located huts in the eastern Alps, the Brandenburger Hut. Watching the sunrise over the stunning glacier surroundings really is a unique experience and a highlight of this tour. From the Brandenburger Hut we continue past the Vernagt hut to the Breslauer Hut for our last evening in the mountains before returning to Vent the following morning. This tour can be taken in combination with one of our summer tours - Ötztal Tour where a Mountain Guide accompanies those who would like to do some climbing or more strenuous glacier tours. The Walking Guide undertakes day hikes with those who would prefer not to climb and then all participants meet in the huts in the evening. Some tours, for example the glacier traverse to the Brandenburger Hut are taken all together as one group. On the 3 day trek we return to Vent from the Hoch Joch Hospiz via the Breslauer Hut. Highlights: Watching sunrise over the glaciers at the Brandenburger Hut Fitness: Able to ascend for 4 - 6 hours over sometimes challenging terrain Group: Maximum of 8 participants per Guide Price: All prices include guiding and half board accommodation
