Groβvenediger Walking with Glacier |

We start this trek in Streden in the Virgen Valley, heading firstly to to the Essener Rosstock Hut. We will leave our packs here and go on a short walk up to the Simony Lake to acclimatise to the altitude. The following day we will transfer to the Johannis Hut, walking via the Türml Joch and again, we can leave our backpacks and hike up to the Kreuzspitz. The highlight of these four days is the trek up Groβvenediger, also known as "Majesty of the Alps". We will leave the National Park Hohe Tauern via the Dorfertal and return to where we set off from. This tour can be taken in combination with our summer tour - Groβvenediger Glacier Tour. A Mountain Guide accompanies those who would like to climb Groβvenediger, the Walking Guide can undertake a day hike with those who would prefer not to thereby providing a family friendly alternative.
